Let`s continue the topic we were discussing last time about creating your own style. There is also another aspect you have to consider when selecting clothes and accessories.
3. Color of clothing, make-up and hair
The main thing to remember is that color can turn a chrysalis into a butterfly and vice versa. When choosing colors you should pay attention to your complexion which can be divided into four seasons (winter – spring – summer – autumn). Chosen correctly, colors can flatter you natural characteristics greatly.
At home you can conduct a very simple and interesting test and according to the result find out your season. To do this, you should first of all remove your makeup, then put your hair under a hair band of neutral color and sit in front of a mirror. The next step is to put two pieces of fabric alternatively in front of you: salmon and pale pink. Take a good look at yourself in the mirror. Which one of the two pieces of fabric flatters you? If it is pale pink, you should wear cold colors (winter and summer). If it is salmon, go for warm colors (spring and autumn).
This test is very easy to do at home, but if you want to get an objective answer to this question, it is better to see a specialist, who will carry on this test professionally and tell you exactly what colors of clothing, make-up and hair you should choose. After the test you will learn what colors suit you – cold or warm, light or dark, bright or muted.
4. Figure
Another thing that influences the choice of personal style is your figure. Sure, if you are slim, fit and well-proportioned, you can wear almost anything. And if your figure is far from being ideal, take some time to learn what kind of clothes you can wear and what kind you absolutely shouldn`t. When assessing your figure, do not forget to mark your advantages. Choose clothes so that it hides your flaws and emphasizes your strong points.
I must say that it can be really hard to objectively assess our appearance. We see ourselves in the mirror every day and have become used to ourselves and our shortcomings and sometimes just do not want to see them. If you feel that you are unable to give an impartial assessment of your appearance, go to an image specialist.
5.Age
When choosing your style, you should consider another important criterion – age. For example, classic and sporty styles, with some exceptions, can be suitable for women of all ages. However, there are styles that are “owned” only by certain age – avant-garde, retro and some others. For example, a style that looks good on a young girl may look ridiculous on a middle-aged lady and it can only emphasize her age and vice versa.
